Women empowerment: Women’s Rights Committee successfully concluded CSW session (23-03-2017)

A delegation of the Committee on Women’s Rights and Gender Equality of the European Parliament, led by the Committee Chair Ms Vilija Blinkevičiūtė (S&D, LT), successfully concluded its work in the 61st annual session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women in New York. EU is stuck half way to achieving gender equality, MEPs say

Give more support to women in rural areas, urge MEPs

EU member states should pay particular attention to the needs of women in rural areas to create better living conditions and halt depopulation, say the Agriculture and Women’s Rights Committees in a resolution voted on Tuesday. Women's Rights MEPs elected the new bureau (25-01-2017)
