Parliament’s Development and Agriculture Committees will debate Tuesday from 15h00 agricultural, socio-economic and environmental impacts of the EU’s farming policy on developing countries.

The public hearing with academics, representatives of third countries' farmers and the EU Commission will kick off by presentation of the study titled The impact of the CAP on developing countries.


The debate will then focus on how the EU's farming policy affects agricultural production, livelihoods and the right to food in developing countries and what effects is has on their environment, land use and meat consumption.


MEPs and experts will also look at ways to better synchronise objectives of the CAP and of the Union's development policy.
