Parliament names radio studio after journalists murdered in December attack
Parliament named on Monday a radio studio after Antonio Megalizzi and Bartosz Orent-Niedzielski, two journalists murdered during the December attack in Strasbourg.
Two months after the attack, radio studio 1 of the European Parliament in Strasbourg has been named after radio journalists Antonio Megalizzi and Bartosz Orent-Niedzielski, who were murdered during the terrorist attack on 11 December 2018 in Strasbourg.
The commemorative plaque was unveiled by EP President Antonio Tajani, in the presence of members of the families of the two journalists.
President Tajani said “Antonio and Bartosz were part of us; and their project, which has been restarted, will transform our memory of them into a living presence of these two young journalists”. “We will always defend our values, which are also their values”.
Tajani, right after the commemoration, joined Megalizzi’s and Orent-Niedzielski’s colleagues for the first radio transmission of Europhonica since the attack, the radio station the two journalists worked for.
