The meeting of the European Union - Albania stabilisation and association parliamentary committee is held 11–12 July. It will focus on reforms and developments in the Parliament of Albania, country's economic situation and progress in conducting reform of the judiciary. The question on reducing discrimination in practice, in particular of the Roma population will also be raised.
The meeting includes a debate with representatives of the Albanian Government and of the High Representative for FASP / the European Commission.
Parliament will adopt its recommendation in the end of the meeting, just before the press conference.

Human Rights Subcommittee Chair Barbara Lochbihler, Women's Rights and Gender Equality Committee Chair Mikael Gustafsson and EU-Turkey Joint Parliamentary Committee Delegation Chair Hélène Flautre, and other MEPs will attend the discussion.
Organised by the Special Committee on organised crime, corruption and money laundering, this hearing will focus on selected fields of activity and instruments of organised crime including trafficking, counterfeiting and cyber crime and the means available for the purpose of its prevention, investigation and repression. Participants will include various national and EU authorities, international organisations and representatives of civil society.
MEPs will debate with experts, such as UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Food Olivier De Schutter, on the fulfilment of human rights in third countries in times of economic downturn, with special focus on those most affected by the economic crisis. The hearing is part of the preparation of own-initiative report by Inese Vaidere (EPP, Latvia), scheduled to be adopted in plenary in spring 2013.

Differences in contract law between Member States hinder traders and consumers who want to engage in cross-border trade within the internal market. The obstacles which stem from these differences dissuade traders, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in particular, from entering cross border trade or expanding to new Member States' markets. Consumers are hindered from accessing products offered by traders in other Member States.
