EMU. Parliament will discuss the EU summit outcome with European Council President Herman Van Rompuy at a Conference of Presidents meeting open to all members (Monday, 14.00). ECB President Mario Draghi will debate Eurozone developments with the Economic and Monetary Affairs Committee (Monday, 15.30). There may also be "trialogue" negotiations with the Council on the banking supervision legislation and Capital Requirements Directive (Tuesday). Also, MEP negotiators will start talks with the Council to reach a compromise on banking supervision (Tuesday, from 15.00).

Eurodac/Data protection. The Civil Liberties Committee will vote on a proposal to help fight terrorism and serious crime by making the EU database of asylum seekers' fingerprints available to national law enforcement authorities (Monday).

Asylum procedures. The Civil Liberties Committee will hold "trialogue" talks for a compromise with Council on a single EU asylum procedure. This could include common guarantees for asylum seekers, such as access to health care, a deadline for processing applications and permission to stay in the EU until a final decision on an appeal is taken (Monday).

Fisheries. A major reform of the EU fisheries policy from 2014 is up for a vote in the Fisheries Committee. The Commission has proposed measures to reduce fishing to levels which do not harm fish stocks, end discards, and plan better for the long term on the basis of more reliable scientific data (Tuesday, 09.00).

Long-term budget: Trans-European Energy and Transport networks. The Industry and Energy Committee will vote on a draft agreement with Council to select 12 priority areas for faster authorisation of energy-related projects. The Transport Committee will vote to determine EU priority transport infrastructure projects. Both committees will adopt the new "Connecting Europe facility" infrastructure funding instrument (Tuesday).

President's agenda. Parliament's President Martin Schulz will pay an official visit to Tunisia to meet among others President Moncef Marzouki, Prime Minister Hamadi Jebali, Parliament speaker Mustapha Ben Jaafar, political party leaders, civil society representatives, students and the media (Tuesday and Wednesday; press conference with Mr Ben Jaafar Tuesday at 11.00; press point with President Marzouki Wednesday,10.00).

Press briefing. A briefing on key topics of media interest will be held on Monday at 11.00 (Altiero Spinelli building, room 5G2).

Parliament's offices close from 22 December until 3 January. Business resumes on 7 January, with a week of meetings of parliamentary committees and political groups.
