Overfishing and illegal catches....(read more) Facebook President Martin Schulz announced the resignations of MEPs Diana Wallis (ALDE, UK) and Proinsias De Rossa (S&D, IE), and thanked them for their services to Parliament, at the opening of the 1-2 February mini-plenary in Brussels.
Ms Wallis resigned as of 1 February, and Mr De Rossa as of 2 February.
Mr Schulz also announced that Ville Itälä (EPP, FI) had been nominated a member of the Court of Auditors, and declared his EP seat vacant as of 1 March.
Agenda changes
An oral question on the feasibility of introducing stability bonds was postponed to the Strasbourg February session. Instead, Parliament will start the Thursday debate with the report by Carlos José ITURGAIZ ANGULO (EPP, ES) on the application of the waste management directive.
A short presentation of the Evelyn REGNER (S&D, AT) report on the cross-border transfer of company seats - initially not planned - is included in the agenda on Thursday morning.
An Environment Committee motion for a resolution under Rule 88(4) on the list of nutrition claims is included in voting time on Thursday at noon.
