Fight against organised crime, counterfeiting, sexual and labour exploitation, eco-mafia: debate with leading experts

Parliament's Special Committee on Organised Crime, Corruption and Money Laundering will hold a public hearing on prevention, investigation and repression of organised crime in the EU, on Wednesday 11 July from 9:00 to 18.30, in room JAN 4Q2.


Speakers will include leading experts from: 
  • UNODC and INTERPOL, who will report on the state of organised crime,

  • OLAF and EUROPOL, who will present a joint operation against counterfeiting,

  • Frontex and ILO, who will address labour ad sexual exploitation,

  • UK Environmental Investigation Agency and Italian Legambiente, who will share in the field experience of fighting ecomafia,

  • Libera, with founder Don Luigi Ciotti, Landeskriminalamt Berlin and FLARE, who will report on civil society role in law enforcement, and

  • Spanish and Italian penitentiary institutions, who will talk about enforcing sentences.


There will be a press conference on the same day at 14.00 in room PHS 0A50 (Ana Politkovskaya) with Committee Chair Sonia Alfano, Committee Rapporteur Salvatore Iacolino and invited experts TBA.
