Compliance with driving and rest times should be stricter and should be the same across the EU, says the transport committee. In a draft resolution to be put to a vote on Tuesday, it calls for lorries to be fitted with more efficient recording devices and inspectors to have adequate equipment, in order to improve road safety and eliminate unfair competition in the road transport sector.
