European memorial ceremony for Helmut Kohl. European Parliament President Antonio Tajani, European Council President Donald Tusk, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Emmanuel Macron, former Spanish Prime Minister Felipe González and former President of the United States Bill Clinton.
Terrorism. Eurojust President Michèle Coninsx will present the main points of the Eurojust 2016 report on Foreign Terrorist Fighters to the members of the Civil Liberties Committee and discuss its findings with them. (Thursday)
Dialogue with faith leaders. As part of a series of dialogue seminars organised by the EP with Europe's churches and religions and philosophical and non-confessional organisations, the next seminar will look at "The future of Europe – Reflections for the EU by 2025”. EP First Vice-President Mairead McGuinness and Commission First Vice-President Frans Timmermans will kick off the discussion. (Tuesday)
Plenary preparations. Political groups will prepare for the 3 - 6 July plenary session, when MEPs will review the outgoing Maltese Council Presidency and discuss the priorities of the upcoming Estonian one. MEPs will also debate the results of the 22 and 23 June European summit and the Commission work priorities for 2018. MEPs will vote on legislation to improve access to books for the blind and make large firms publish information about the tax they pay in each country across the world. The Parliament will also vote on whether to give their consent to the first ever EU-Cuba agreement, on the situation in Turkey as well as on proposals to fight built-in obsolescence of goods. Finally, MEPs will hear from the President of Argentina Mauricio Macri during a solemn session.
President's agenda. EP President Antonio Tajani will deliver an opening keynote speech at the Women’s Forum Rome 2017 on “Revitalising Europe with women’s energy for peace and prosperity”, on Monday. President Tajani will be in Luxembourg to meet, among others, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and hold a press conference with European Investment Bank President Werner Hoyer, on Tuesday. On Wednesday, he will meet Bloomberg L.P. CEO Michael Bloomberg, followed by press conference.
