Heated debate on Brexit and its consequences

Opening the extraordinary session, European Parliament President Martin Schulz noted that this was the first time that a plenary session had been convened at such short notice, but also that the UK citizens’ decision to leave the EU was equally unprecedented. He warmly welcomed Lord Hill and thanked him for his work in the EU Commission and deciding to step down, having campaigned for Britain to remain in the EU. Poslanci za čimprejšnji izstop Britanije, končanje negotovosti in reforme EU

Združeno kraljestvo naj čim prej v celoti upošteva željo večine svojih državljanov in začne postopek izstopa iz Evropske unije, nato pa se bodo začela urejati medsebojna razmerja, poudarja resolucija, ki jo je v torek na izrednem zasedanju sprejel Evropski parlament. Poslanci so še dodali, da mora Unija izvesti nujne reforme, da bi izpolnila pričakovanja svojih državljanov. Po britanskem referendumu o članstvu v Evropski uniji se bodo poslanci v torek srečali na izrednem plenarnem zasedanju Parlamenta, na katerem bodo razpravljali o njegovem rezultatu in sprejeli resolucijo. V četrtek bodo potekala zasedanja odborov za proračun, državljanske svoboščine, zunanje zadeve in razvoj: govora bo o finančnih stroških begunske krize in priseljevanja. Konferenca predsednikov Evropskega parlamenta (predsednik Parlamenta in voditelji političnih skupin), ki se je sestala v petek dopoldne po objavi izidov britanskega referenduma o članstvu v EU, je sprejela odločitev o sklicu izrednega plenarnega zasedanja, ki bo v torek, 28. junija ob 10. uri. European travel document: MEPs and ministers strike informal deal

A new standard European travel document to speed the return of non-EU nationals staying "irregularly" in EU member states without valid passports or identity cards was informally agreed by MEPs and EU ministers on Thursday evening. A key goal during the talks has been to increase third countries’ acceptance of the document through improved technical details. To enter into force, this informal deal needs to be formally endorsed by the full Parliament and the Council of Ministers. "Skrajni čas je, da naše ljudstvo zaživi v svobodi, brez zidov in nadzornih točk," je v četrtek v svojem govoru v Parlamentu pozval predsednik palestinske nacionalne oblasti Mahmud Abas. Izrazil je tudi zahvalo poslancem za priznanje Palestine in bil kritičen do Izrael, ker še naprej okupira palestinska ozemlja. But others lag behind and must do more, MEPs urge in a resolution, voted on Thursday, on the EU Commission's “renewables progress report." To achieve the EU's energy efficiency target - a 20% gain by 2020 – member states need to implement EU legislation faster, and in full, says a second resolution, also voted on Thursday. Razjasnitev premoženjskih razmerij za mednarodne pare  

V četrtek je Parlament podprl zakonodajo o določanju krajevne pristojnosti sodišč za ureditev premoženjskih razmerij ob dedovanjih ali razvezah mednarodnih parov.
