New rules empowering shareholders to vote on directors’ pay, so as to tie it more closely to their performance, were informally agreed on Thursday. Nadia Murad in Lamija Aji Bašar, iraški borki za pravice jazidov, ki sta uspeli pobegniti iz ujetništva teroristične Islamske države, bosta 13. decembra na slovesnosti v Evropskem parlamentu v Strasbourgu prejeli nagrado Saharova za svobodo misli. Danes se aktivistki ukvarjata predvsem z osveščanjem javnosti o grozotah spolnega suženjstva, v katerem ISIS drži mnoge ženske in dekleta iz jazidske skupnosti. A proposal to grant Spain €856,800 in EU aid to help find new jobs for 250 former car workers who were made redundant by 29 firms making motor vehicle parts in the Valencia region was approved by the Budgets Committee on Thursday. The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aid still needs to be approved by the Council of Ministers on 12 December, and by a plenary vote in Parliament planned for 14 December. Danes v državah, v katerih divjajo vojne oz. kjer so se zgodile naravne nesreče, živi 462 milijonov šolarjev. Od teh jih 75 milijonov potrebuje pomoč pri nadaljevanju šolanja. Položaj v Alepu je katastrofalen: nad največjim sirskim mestom bi bilo zaradi tega treba vzpostaviti območje prepovedi poletov in humanitarne koridorje, je članom odborov za zunanje zadeve in razvoj 5. decembra dejal predstavnik Belih čelad Abdulrahman Al-Mavas. Bele čelade oz. sirska civilna zaščita so skupina prostovoljcev, ki rešuje civiliste. Več deset tisoč teh je moralo v zadnjih dneh zapustiti svoje domove v vzhodnem Alepu, ki so cilj napadov sirskih vladnih sil in njihovih zaveznikov. Mandatory checks at EU external borders: deal done by MEPs and ministers

All EU citizens and third country nationals entering or leaving the EU will be checked against databases, e.g. of lost and stolen documents, under a draft law informally agreed by MEPs and EU ministers on Monday.
