Kui suurfirma on sunnitud maailmamajanduse ümberkorralduste ja finantsraskuste tõttu oma tootmist ELis koomale tõmbama, tuleb koondatutele appi Globaliseerumisega Kohanemise Euroopa Fond. See rahastu tagab töötutele ümberõppe, aitab neil leida uue töökoha ja toetab oma ettevõtte loomisel. Perioodil 2007–2013 eraldas EL tuhandete koondatute tarbeks fondist üle 400 miljoni euro. EP täiskogu kiitis järjekordsed väljamaksed heaks kolmapäeval, 17. septembril ja seega teeme siinkohal fondist ülevaate.
