A proposal to grant Spain €856,800 in EU aid to help find new jobs for 250 former car workers who were made redundant by 29 firms making motor vehicle parts in the Valencia region was approved by the Budgets Committee on Thursday. The European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aid still needs to be approved by the Council of Ministers on 12 December, and by a plenary vote in Parliament planned for 14 December. Danes v državah, v katerih divjajo vojne oz. kjer so se zgodile naravne nesreče, živi 462 milijonov šolarjev. Od teh jih 75 milijonov potrebuje pomoč pri nadaljevanju šolanja. Položaj v Alepu je katastrofalen: nad največjim sirskim mestom bi bilo zaradi tega treba vzpostaviti območje prepovedi poletov in humanitarne koridorje, je članom odborov za zunanje zadeve in razvoj 5. decembra dejal predstavnik Belih čelad Abdulrahman Al-Mavas. Bele čelade oz. sirska civilna zaščita so skupina prostovoljcev, ki rešuje civiliste. Več deset tisoč teh je moralo v zadnjih dneh zapustiti svoje domove v vzhodnem Alepu, ki so cilj napadov sirskih vladnih sil in njihovih zaveznikov. All EU citizens and third country nationals entering or leaving the EU will be checked against databases, e.g. of lost and stolen documents, under a draft law informally agreed by MEPs and EU ministers on Monday. V ponedeljek bodo tako glasovali o direktivi proti terorizmu, posvetili se bodo ukrepom za zmanjšanje izpustov toplogrednih plinov in glasovali o novih pravilih za večjo konkurenco v železniškem prometu. Kako ukrepati proti terorizmu v času, ko skrajneži v Evropski uniji vse uspešneje novačijo ljudi v svoje vrste in se iz bojišč v Siriji in Iraku domov vračajo posamezniki z evropskimi potnimi listi? O tem je bilo v preteklih mesecih govora v odboru za državljanske svoboščine; 5. decembra pa so poslanci podprli novo direktivo o boju proti terorizmu. Ta priprave na teroristična dejanja in potovanja v tujino s tem ciljem v vsej EU označuje za kazniva dejanja.
