It-Tlieta fi Strasburgu l-Parlament Ewropew ta l-kunsens tiegħu għall-ftehim ta' Assoċjazzjoni UE-Ukrajna, li jinkludi Ftehim ta' Kummerċ Ħieles Dettaljat u Komprensiv. Fl-istess ħin, il-Ftehim ġie rratifikat ukoll mill-Parlament Ukren f'Kiev. Il-ftehim ser jistabbilixxi assoċjazzjoni politika soda u integrazzjoni ekonomika bejn l-UE u l-Ukrajna u ser jipprovdi aċċess għal suq ħieles u reċiproku. MEPs to quiz Commission on progress in freeing the digital single market

The Commission will brief Parliament on Tuesday afternoon on progress to date in unlocking the potential of the digital single market. Measures to remove obstacles to buying goods online and using e-signatures, or to ensure that internet giants do not abuse their dominant market positions, could well figure in the debate which is set to start at 16.30 approximately. MEPs evaluate EU policy towards Russia

The EU should take a more proactive line on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and impose tougher sanctions on Russia, urged some political groups in Tuesday’s debate with EU Enlargement and Neighbourhood Policy Commissioner Štefan Füle. Anointed as Commission President, Jean-Claude Juncker lays out the EU's priorities and commitments for the coming years with a focus on energy, welfare and prosperity.

Parliament’s President Martin Schulz this morning informed the Conference of Presidents, made up of the leaders of the political groups, that His Holiness Pope Francis has accepted his official invitation to the European Parliament. This invitation was extended by President Schulz during his official visit to the Vatican on 11 October 2013. Redundant workers in the building industry in two Dutch regions, at a Greek bakery, and at a steel producer in Romania would receive European Globalisation Adjustment Fund aid to help them find new jobs under plans approved by the Parliament's Budgets Committee on Thursday. Redundant workers in wood product manufacturing in Castilla y León and in the food and beverage services industry in Aragón could get a total of €1.66 million in European Globalisation Adjustment Fund (EGF) aid to help them find new jobs under plans approved by the Parliament's Budgets Committee on Thursday.
