TTIP: more US market access, reform investment protection, retain EU standards

INTA External/international trade28-05-2015 - 18:02
Rapporteur Bernd Lange (2nd on the Left) and the final vote on screen on the draft report, providing guidelines to the current Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) negotiations.

An EU-US trade deal should deepen EU access to the US market, but must not undermine EU standards or the right to regulate in the public interest, say Trade Committee MEPs in draft recommendations voted on Thursday. Tools for resolving disputes between investors and states should be reformed and improved, they add. (Read more: TTIP: more US market access, reform investment protection, retain EU standards )

Valimistel osutus edukaimaks Euroopa Rahvapartei ja nii sai komisjoni juhiks nende esikandidaat Jean-Claude Juncker. Meie lühidokumentaal heidab pilgu ajaloolistele valimistele, mida jääb iseloomustama märksõna Spitzenkandidaten. (Loe lähemalt: Spitzenkandidaten: nõnda toimusid aasta eest Euroopa valimised )

Mitmed lääne meediaettevõtted on viimaste aastate jooksul langenud poliitiliselt motiveeritud küberrünnakute ohvriks ning eelkõige on selle põhjuseks olnud Süüria režiimi ja nn Islamiriigi tegevuse kriitiline kajastamine.
