International trade committee MEPs will discuss the prospects for deepening EU-US trade links with Commissioner Karel de Gucht from 16.30 today. The debate will focus on the preliminary conclusions by the EU-US High-level Working Group for Jobs and Growth set up to analyze options for increasing transatlantic trade and investment.
The working group said in an interim report presented on 19 June that a comprehensive EU-US trade and investment agreement – if achievable – would be the best solution for supporting jobs and growth.
