“Stolen” babies. A Petitions Committee delegation will be in Madrid to investigate several petitions on babies allegedly kidnapped at birth by hospital personnel in Spain. MEPs will meet Spanish authorities and petitioners to gather more information. A press conference will be held at the EP Information Office in Madrid on Tuesday at 13.00. (Monday and Tuesday)
Migration/hotspots in Greece. A Civil Liberties Committee delegation will visit several reception facilities in Greece to take stock of the different aspects related to receiving large numbers of migrants. They will meet with Greek Immigration Policy Minister Ioannis Mouzalas, representatives from UNHCR and NGOs working in the field, as well as asylum seekers. (Monday to Thursday)
Trade agreements/Indonesia. An International Trade Committee delegation will be in Indonesia to discuss the new free trade deal with governmental, parliamentary, civil society and industry representatives. Trade negotiations with Indonesia were launched in July 2016. (Monday to Wednesday)
Relations with South Caucasus. A Foreign Affairs Committee delegation will travel to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia to meet the heads of the three countries and civil society representatives to foster EU-South Caucasus relations and prepare an EP recommendation on a new EU-Armenia agreement and on the advancement of negotiations on an EU-Azerbaijan agreement. (Monday to Thursday)
European Charlemagne Youth Prize. The three final winners of the European Charlemagne Youth Prize (ECYP), awarded to projects actively participating in the development of Europe, will be announced at an award ceremony in Aachen. EP Vice‑President Sylvie Guillaume and former EP President Hans-Gert Pöttering will join the event. (Tuesday)
President’s diary. European Parliament President Antonio Tajani will speak at the inaugural session of the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly in Florence, gathering together MEPs and parliamentarians from Latin America, on occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Treaty of Rome. (Tuesday).
