        5th Interparliamentary Conference for CFSP and CSDP 

        Rome (Italy),  5 - 7 November 2014


        Elmar BROK (EPP, DE), chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee, will lead a 16 MEP strong delegation to the 5th inter-parliamentary conference on the Common Foreign and Security Policy and the Common Security and Defence Policy in Rome between 5 and 7 November 2014. The other MEPs taking part in the delegation are Lorenzo CESA (EPP, IT), Michael GAHLER (EPP, DE), Arnaud DANJEAN (EPP, FR), Richard HOWITT (S&D, UK), Ioan Mircea PASCU (S&D, RO), Ana GOMES (S&D, PT), Afzal KHAN (S&D, UK), Anna FOTYGA (ECR, PL), Johannes Cornelis VAN BAALEN (ALDE, NL), Javier NART (ALDE, ES), Sabine LÖSING (GUE/NGL, DE), Javier COUSO PERMUY (GUE/NGL, ES), Bodil CEBALLOS (Greens/EFA, SE), Fabio Massimo CASTALDO (EFDD, IT) and Mario BORGHEZIO (NI, IT).


        MEPs and members of the national parliaments of the EU Member States will engage in debates with the new EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs Federica Mogherini, representatives of the Italian Presidency and other speakers around the crises at the Union’s borders, priorities and strategies for CFSP and CSDP on the future of the EU battlegroups, strengthening EU-Africa relations and the regional stability to the Western Balkans, and the prospects of the European defence.
