Overfishing and illegal catches....(read more) Facebook The Council and Commission must take prompt action to avert a sharp cutback in funding of the Free Food scheme, an EU programme for the needy with more than 13 million beneficiaries, said MEPs across the board in today's debate with Commissioner Dacian Cioloş and Polish Minister Marek Sawicki.
MEPs also denounced the six Member States which are blocking debate in the Council on ways to save the scheme and asked the Polish Presidency to help to end the impasse.
