Overfishing and illegal catches....(read more) Facebook EU social cohesion and demographic development issues, in the context of the economic and financial crisis and the debate on EU regional policy after 2013, will be debated by MEPs and national MEPs in the European Parliament's Brussels plenary chamber on 5 and 6 December.
The work of this inter-parliamentary meeting on "Social cohesion and demographic development in a sustainable Europe" will be done in three separate panels on social cohesion and regional development, the economic and budgetary impact of demographic change, and the social aspects of employment and demographic trends.
The plenary session, in the presence of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union and the European Commission, will be co-chaired by Jerzy Buzek, President of the European Parliament, Ewa Kopacz, Marshal of the Sejm (speaker of the lower house of the Polish Parliament), and Bogdan Borusewicz, Marshal of the Polish Senate.
