EP nariai šią savaitę posėdžiauja Briuselyje.  

Birželio 29–liepos 3 d. EP nariai posėdžiauja komitetuose ir politinėse frakcijose Briuselyje. Jie spręs dėl TTIP rekomendacijos, aptars padėtį Graikijoje ir ES iniciatyvas kovoje su mokesčių vengimu. Taip pat bus diskutuojama, kaip išvengti „Germanwings“ tragedijos pasikartojimų. Savo ruožtu politinės frakcijos aptars pasirengimą kitą savaitę vyksiančiai plenarinei sesijai. Be to, nuo liepos 1 d. Liuksemburgas perima iš Latvijos pirmininkavimą ES Tarybai. The European Commission’s weak response to the first EU citizens’ initiative (ECI) petition, on the “Right2Water”, could discredit the ECI system, warn Environment Committee MEPs in a resolution voted on Wednesday. It “lacks any real ambition and failed to meet the demands of the organizers”, they add. ECIs enable citizens to ask the Commission to propose laws in areas within its competence, if they can muster at least one million signatures from at least a quarter of EU member states. Negotiations on proposals to revise the Interinstitutional Agreement on Better Regulation kicked off on Thursday with a meeting in the European Parliament between EP President Martin Schulz, European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, Latvia’s Prime Minister, Laimdota Straujuma, representing the current Council Presidency and Luxembourg’s Prime Minister Xavier Bettel for the incoming Council Presidency. Trading in seal products from hunts hitherto conducted to protect fishing stocks will be banned in the EU in future but the exemption for the trade in products derived from seal hunts carried out by the Inuit community will remain, under the preliminary deal struck by internal market MEPs and the Latvian Presidency of the Council on Thursday. Draft plans to encourage food innovation via a new, simplified authorisation procedure for novel foods, already informally agreed with the Council of Ministers, were endorsed by the Environment Committee on Thursday. In talks, MEPs insisted that foods from cloned animals must be clearly included in the scope of the regulation, as must the precautionary principle, measures to keep nanomaterials under scrutiny and animal testing restrictions. Corporate tax: MEPs urge Commission to work faster and propose laws

The European Commission's corporate tax action plan, tabled on 7 June was debated with Commissioner Pierre Moscovici in plenary session on Wednesday evening. Rather than a plan, MEPs asked the Commission to accelerate its work on this pressing issue so as to deliver concrete legislative proposals. EP tables recommendations for Eurozone governance

Today’s Eurozone governance rules are too complex, lack ownership and are not consistently enforced, MEPs say in a resolution voted on Wednesday. The text is Parliament's input to the discussions on the future of the economic governance framework, including Thursday's European summit debate on the so-called five presidents' report on completing the EU's economic and monetary union. Trečiadienį Europos Parlamentas (EP) pritarė Europos investicijų planui, kuriuo siekiama sutelkti 315 mlrd. eurų paramą ES ekonomikos atgaivinimui. Šį planą pasiūlė Europos Komisijos pirmininkas Jeanas Claude‘as Junckeris (Jean-Claude Juncker). Europarlamentarams pavyko patikslinti jo finansavimo struktūrą, sustiprinti jo vykdymo priežiūrą ir padidinti EP vaidmenį skiriant Europos strateginių investicijų fondo vadovybę.
