      1. AFET delegation to Tunisia and Algeria 

        16-20 June. The Foreign Affairs Committee is sending a delegation to Tunisia and Algeria to strengthen EU-Tunisia and EU-Algeria partnership and dialogue on foreign policy issues as well as on regional security and stability.

      2. DROI delegation to Thailand 

        The main aim of the Subcommittee’s visit to Thailand (16-18 July 2018) is to engage in discussions on the human rights situation and the planned general elections in 2019, including labour rights, trafficking, migrant workers and forced labour in the fishing industry. During the visit Members will hold meetings with representatives of government ministries, political parties and members of parliamentary committees as well as civil society organisations working on civil, political and social rights. The delegation will be headed by Mr Panzeri, Chair of DROI and consist of six Members: Mr David Martin, Mr Andrey Kovatchev, Mr Francis Zammit Dimech, Mr Joachim Zellerand and Mrs Barbara Lochbihler.

      3. ECON delegation to Washington and New York 

        From 16 to 19 July, a delegation of the Economic and monetary affairs committee will travel to Washington and New York where they will meet, among others representatives from: The Treasury, the Institute of International Bankers (IIB) and the Federal Reserve Board (FRB).   The delegation will discuss transatlantic relations, developments in the field of financial market regulations and taxation, the impact of the US tax reform on financial institutions and regulatory challenges for foreign banks in the US.

      4. INTA delegation to Thailand 

        16-19 June. Trade committee will be visiting Thailand in view of the possible resumption of talks on a future EU-Thailand free trade agreement. Members will meet representatives of government and political parties as well as members of parliamentary committees and civil society organisations.

      5. TAX3 delegation to Washington 

        From 16 to 18 July, a delegation of the Financial crimes, tax evasion and tax avoidance committee will travel to Washington where they will meet representatives from The Treasury, the Congres and FinCen (the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network).  The delegation will discuss the state of play and next steps for transatlantic cooperation in the fight against financial criminality, tax evasion and tax avoidance and how to improve transparency with regards to tax and beneficial ownership at international and OECD level.         A delegation of MEPs from the Committee on Constitutional Affairs will visit Podgorica, Montenegro from 16 to 17 July 2018. This visit will allow MEPs to exchange views with national legislative, executive and judicial authorities, NGOs, social partners, think-tanks and academia on the constitutional aspects of the accession process, the possible impact of the accession on the institutional organisation of Montenegro, and to evaluate the steps accomplished by Montenegro regarding respect of the fundamental values of the EU and the rule of law..

        A delegation of MEPs from the Civil Liberties, Justice and Home Affairs Committee will visit Washington D.C. from 16 to 19 July 2018. The delegation will be composed of eight MEPs including Chair Claude MORAES (S&D, UK) . Nathalie GRIESBECK (ALDE, FR) will join the mission in her capacity as Chair of the  Special Committee on Terrorism.  MEPs will discuss data protection, cyber security, counter-terrorism and visa reciprocity related with authorities and stakeholders.

      Official Visit to Niger

      European Parliament President, Antonio Tajani, will visit Niger from 17 to 18 July to strengthen political ties and focus on tackling shared challenges like security and stability, migration and the need for investment.

      President Tajani will meet the speakers of the national assemblies of the G5 Sahel countries (Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso, Mauritania, Chad) and hold bilateral meetings with the President of the National Assembly of Niger, Ousseini Tini; Prime Minister Brigi Rafini and President Mahamadou Issoufou.

      A delegation of representatives from the European institutions, Food and Agriculture Organization and European Investment Bank, together with European private sector representatives, will accompany President Tajani. They will participate in two conferences focusing on digitalisation, agriculture, water resource management and renewable energy with the aim of promoting investment partnerships between European and Nigerien companies.

      President Tajani will visit a UNHCR refugee shelter and tour an industrial site.

The delegation will also look into Digital Single Market initiatives, such as on the digital environment and e-commerce.

      Official Visit to Niger
