All actions aimed at suppressing the freedom of expression and assembly in Azerbaijan should stop immediately, says a resolution adopted by the European Parliament on Thursday. Azerbaijan's hosting of the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest in its capital Baku on 26 May should be an opportunity for it to show its commitment to democracy and human rights, it adds. O segundo e terceiro prémios foram entregues, respetivamente, aos projetos Europe Meets School, Prague, um programa checo de intercâmbio para estudantes, e Cycle Me Home, um documentário húngaro sobre uma viagem de bicicleta pela Europa.
Criar, viajar e trabalhar são os temas que os jovens portugueses consideram mais importantes para o seu futuro. Estes foram os resultados da "Hora do Voto", uma iniciativa do Gabinete do Parlamento Europeu em Portugal na Futurália, a maior feira de educação e formação em Portugal, que decorreu entre 14 e 17 de Março na FIL, em Lisboa.
A iniciativa decorreu durante mais de um mês e passou por seis cidades do Alto Alentejo, levando àquela região vários eurodeputados, numa organização que envolveu dois debates, uma exposição, visitas a escolas e o concurso Euroescola. O Fórum reuniu, ao todo, mais de 1000 pessoas entre políticos, especialistas, estudantes, professores e público em geral.
