2016. gada maijā Eiropas Parlaments uzņēma 7500 jauniešus no visas Eiropas un pasaules, aicinot nākt klajā ar idejām Eiropas nākotnei. Pēdējo nedēļu laikā Eiropas jaunatnes dienu dalībnieki prezentēja savas idejas Parlamenta komitejām par visdažādākajām tēmām. Tunisijas prezidents Bedži Saids Esebsi (Beji Caid Essebsi) 1. decembrī apmeklēja Eiropas Parlamentu, kur tikās ar EP prezidentu Martinu Šulcu. Tikšanās laikā viņi pārrunāja Tunisijas attīstību un Tunisijas attiecības ar ES. Esebsi šo vizīti nosauca par “vēsturisku un ļoti simbolisku brīdi” un norādīja Eiropas Parlamentam uz savas valsts apņemšanos attiecībā uz demokrātiju un brīvību. Pēc Eiropas Parlamenta ziņotāja Žana Filipa Albrehta (Zaļie/EFA, Vācija) (Jan Philipp Albrecht) domām, ES un ASV datu tiesībaizsardzības sistēma par kuru Eiropas Parlamentā balsoja šodien, ļaus atgūt uzticību pēc skaļās Snoudena lietas. Šis darījums, kas zināms kā "jumta nolīgums” iekļauj personas datu apmaiņu ar ASV, kas nepieciešami, lai risinātu noziegumus, tostarp terorismu, un nodrošinās “augstus standartus un augstu aizsardzību”, intervijā norāda EP deputāts. Nākamā gada ES budžetā Eiropas Parlamenta (EP) deputāti nodrošinājuši lielāku atbalstu jauniešiem bez darba un Erasmus+, kā arī iniciatīvām mazo un vidējo uzņēmumu atbalstam, transporta infrastruktūras projektiem un izpētei. ES 2017.gada saistību daļa noteikta 157,8578 miljardu eiro, bet maksājumu daļa - 134,49 miljardu eiro apjomā. MEPs approved €31.5 million in EU aid to repair flood damage in Bavaria in a plenary vote on Thursday. Seven people died in the May and June 2016 floods, which affected more than 47,000 people in Lower Bavaria. Over 2,000 were still unable to return to their homes two months later. Hardest hit was the Rottal-Inn district in Lower Bavaria. The aid will come from the EU Solidarity Fund (EUSF).
