MEPs will debate the unfolding developments in Ukraine, with a particular focus on Russian pressure and destabilization in eastern Ukraine, with Commissioner Štefan Füle on Wednesday morning, ahead of a four-party meeting between Ukraine, the EU, the US and Russia in Geneva on Thursday. (Read more: Last plenary debate on Ukraine before the elections)

Political group leaders will discuss the legacy of the First World War and the lessons to be learned for the future of Europe with Commission President José Manuel Barroso and and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dimitris Kourkoulas for the Greek Presidency of the Council on Wednesday morning, from 9.00. (Read more: Debate on World War I centenary)

The noise of planes flying over your house can get on your nerves, not to mention prove damaging to your health. MEPs will vote on 16 April on new rules regarding noise from airports, including a proposal to preserve local communities' ability to have a say on noise restriction measures. (Read more: Q&A: new rules for reducing noise at airports)

"Made-in" labelling should be made mandatory for non-food products sold on the single market, Parliament said in Tuesday’s vote on plans to tighten up product safety requirements and market surveillance rules so as to strengthen consumer protection in the EU. Parliament also wants tougher penalties for firms selling non-compliant or potentially dangerous products. (Read more: MEPs push for mandatory "made-in" labelling to tighten up product safety rules)

Press releases (second part)

Comprehensive rules to govern financial markets were adopted by Parliament on Tuesday. These rules are designed to close loopholes in the existing legislation, so as to ensure that financial markets are safer as well as more efficient, investors are better protected, high-frequency trading is regulated and speculative commodity trading is curbed. (Read more: MEPs vote laws to regulate financial markets and curb high-frequency trading)

EU workers moving to a different EU country will be able to take their full pension rights with them thanks to a draft law passed by Parliament on Tuesday. It still needs to be formally approved by the Council of Ministers. (Read more: EU workers to enjoy fully portable pension rights when moving abroad)

The single market makes it possible for companies to send employees to other EU countries to help customers there, but many fear this is being abused to avoid local labour market rules. MEPs vote on 16 April on new rules to stop abuse and better protect the rights of posted workers. Ahead of the plenary debate on 15 April and the vote on 16 April, we spoke to Danuta Jazłowiecka, a Polish member of the EPP group responsible for steering the legislation through Parliament. (Read more: Workers posted abroad: “The law is there, we just have to make it work”)

Animal diseases pose a significant risk to public health as most infectious diseases can spread between species. The European Parliament votes 15 April on new rules updating some 40 pieces of European legislation dating back to the 1960s. This would not only clarify who would be responsible for what, but also make prevention a higher priority. We spoke to Marit Paulsen (ALDE, Sweden), responsible for steering the proposal through Parliament, about the difference the new legislation would make. (Read more: Paulsen: Important to strike a balance between free trade and disease control)

Measures to encourage lobbyists working with the EU institutions to sign the EU’s public Transparency Register were backed by Parliament on Tuesday. MEPs also called again for the register to be made compulsory and approved new provisions to push interest groups to make their links with the EU clearer. (Read more: New measures to encourage lobbyists to sign the EU Transparency Register)

New EU rules on the information that small investors must be given before they sign a contract were approved by Parliament on Tuesday. This information will be set out in a mandatory, three-page A4 Key Information Document (KID). (Read more: Key things small investors should be told )
