        International dimension of tax rulings and other measures

        The Special Committee on Tax Rulings and Other Measures Similar in Nature or Effect (TAXE) will hold a hearing on the international dimensions of tax rulings. TAXE Members will have an exchange of views with Mario Monti, Senator and former Prime Minister of Italy. Members will also debate with Richard Murphy, a founding member of the Tax Justice Network that advises on issues such as international taxation, tax competition and its impact, the harmful effects of tax haven activity and flat taxes. An exchange of views with a whistle-blower will be followed by a panel discussion, to which various multinational corporations have been invited, representing different sectors and geographical areas.

        Elmar BROK (EPP, DE), chair of the EP Foreign Affairs Committee, will lead the committee’s ad hoc delegation to Iran on 6 and 7 June. He will be joined by Andrej PLENKOVIC (EPP, HR), Richard HOWITT (S&D, UK), Josef WEIDENHOLZER (S&D, AT), Marietje SCHAAKE (ALDE, NL), Urmas PAET (ALDE, EE) and Klaus BUCHNER (Greens/EFA, DE).


        MEPs will debate EU-Iran relations, the situation in the region and issues of common concern such as fight against drugs smuggling with their counterparts of the Majlis and members of the Iranian government.
