Former committees of inquiry

The European Parliament may at any time set up committees of inquiry to investigate alleged breaches or poor application of Community law. The powers of these committees are based on the provisions governing the exercise of the European Parliament's right of inquiry, as laid out in Annex VIII of the Rules of Procedure.
