Decisions of the ECON, AFCO and JURI committees to enter into interinstitutional negotiations (updated)

At the opening of the session on Monday 2 July 2018, the President announced the decision of several committees to enter into interinstitutional negotiations, pursuant to Rule 69c, paragraph 1.

 

Requests for a vote in Parliament pursuant to Rule 69c, paragraph 2 were received from the Greens/EFA, GUE/NGL, EFDD and ENF Groups, as well as several Meps on the decision of the AFCO committee to enter into interinstitutional negotiations on the basis of the following report:


· AFCO: Report on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council on the European citizens’ initiative (2017/0220(COD)), Rapporteur: György Schöpflin (A8-0226/2018)

 

The vote was held on Thursday 5 July and the decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations was approved.

 

Requests for a vote from the Greens/EFA, GUE/NGL and EFDD Groups, as well as several Meps were also received on the decision of the JURI committee to enter into interinstitutional negotiations on the basis of the following report:


· JURI: Report on the proposal for a directive of the European Parliament and of the Council on copyright in the Digital Single Market (2016/0280(COD)), Rapporteur: Axel Voss (A8 0245/2018)

 

The vote was held on Thursday 5 July and the decision to enter into interinstitutional negotiations was rejected. The report will be placed on the agenda of the September part-session.

 

Concerning the decisions to enter into interinstitutional negotiations by the ECON committee, there have been no request for a vote in Parliament. This committee may therefore start the negotiations on the basis of the following reports:
 

· ECON: Report on the proposal for a regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council amending Regulation (EU) No 806/2014 as regards loss-absorbing and Recapitalisation Capacity for credit institutions and investment firms (2016/0361(COD)), Rapporteur: Gunnar Hökmark (A8-0216/2018)
