Accessibility of the Europarl website

 

Since January 2009, the webpages of the "Headlines" and "Press service" information spaces are compliant with web content accessibility guidelines (WCAG) 2.0, available at the following address: http://www.w3.org/TR/WCAG20/. The compliance level is AA.


  • The technologies on which these document rely are: XHTML 1.0 (transitional), CSS 2, JavaScript 1.2, JPEG, GIF, PNG and Adobe Flash.
  • Technologies also used, but not necessary to access content: Adobe PDF.

Two components do not currently follow this general rule:


  • the "send to a friend" function, for which, in the absence of a security solution in 22 European Union languages, the use of "Captcha" may cause accessibility problems for some users;
  • the videos used on some pages, which may not have been optimised in terms of accessibility.
