As stated by the Honourable Member the island in question is included in the Special Protection Area ES0000020 ‘Delta de l'Ebre’ designated pursuant to Directive 2009/147/EC(1). The Commission would like to recall that the responsibility for the conservation of this site lies primarily with the regional authorities.

The Commission is not aware of any damage on this specific part of the site and it does not have sufficient details on the nature of the impacts and the significance of the damage that this part of the SPA would be suffering. In order to be able to launch an investigation on the situation of this part of the SPA, the Commission would ask the Honourable Member to provide more details.
