Since the establishment of EUPOL COPPS in 2005, the Mission has been allocated a total amount of EUR 68.6 million. In 2005 the budget approved for the Mission was EUR 2.5 million(1). For the period from July 2014 to the end of June 2015, the budget approved is EUR 9.82 million(2). The budget allocated to EUPOL COPPS has evolved to reflect changes in the Mission's mandate as decided by the Council.

The budget of the Mission has also been calibrated and adapted each year to take into account certain variables, including specific needs and requirements of the Mission, as well as budgetary consumption rates.

The budgets allocated to EUPOL COPPS are implemented by the Mission according to Regulation (EU, Euratom) No 966/2012 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 25 October 2012 on the financial rules applicable to the general budget of the Union, in particular Titles V and VI of Part One and Title IV of Part Two, and according to Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 1268/2012 of 29 October 2012 on the rules of application of Regulation 966/2012, in particular Titles V and VI of Part One and Title II of Part Two.

Mission expenditure is verified and audited on a regular basis in line with the applicable rules mentioned above.
