Parliamentary questions
12 June 2018
E-001506/2018
Answer given by Mr Oettinger on behalf of the Commission

The Commission publishes information concerning the breakdown of officials and temporary agents (as they both occupy establishment plan posts) by nationality and grade on a yearly basis, in the context of the budgetary procedure.

In particular, the Honourable Member may find the requested information on the situation on 1 April 2015 in Section 2.2 of the Working Document 2 accompanying the Draft General Budget of the European Union for the financial year 2016(1)

The Romanian officials hold a wide variety of jobs across the Commission, in all Directorates-General and Services. In March 2015 their seniority varied from 8 years for those who arrived when Romania joined the Union, to 1 month for the most recent arrivals.

(1)http://ec.europa.eu/budget/library/biblio/documents/2016/DB/DB2016_WDII_en.pdf It is to be noted that figures include officials and temporary agents with Romanian as first nationality and in active employment on 1 April 2015. This date is the closest date to the requested date (18 March 2015) for which information is readily available. The reference population includes temporary agents and officials as they both occupy establishment plan posts.
