Parliamentary questions
12 July 2018
E-002664/2018
Answer given by Mr Navracsics on behalf of the Commission

From 2013 to 2017, 14 organisations from the East Midlands region received EU grants for sport projects selected under the Erasmus+ programme: 1 organisation received EUR 44 000 in 2014, 6 organisations received a total of EUR 229 000 in 2015, and 7 organisations received a total of EUR 233 000 in 2017.

The selection exercise for the 2018 calls of proposals is still ongoing. As most of the selected projects are still ongoing, it is difficult to draw specific conclusions at this stage as regards their success and impact. However, the mid-term evaluation of the Erasmus+ programme(1) assessed the programme very positively.

For the future, the Commission is proposing a doubling of the budget for the future Erasmus programme, including for its sport chapter.
