12 July 2018
P-003299/2018
Answer given by Mr Vella on behalf of the Commission

The Commission is aware of the procedure that the Danish Government initiated in adjusting the boundaries of the sites within its Natura 2000 network.

According to the information the Commission received from the Danish Government, the internal procedure is expected to be finalised during the second half of 2018. The Commission will carry out a detailed analysis of the proposed modifications, taking into consideration the criteria that were used, once these modifications are finalised and submitted to the Commission.

The analysis to be carried out will be based on all relevant provisions, criteria and obligations that arise from the Habitats(1) and Birds(2) Directives.

(1)Council Directive 92/43/EEC, OJ L 206, 22.7.1992, p. 7‐50
