Committee meetings – Brussels

Election of committee chairs and vice-chairs. Eight parliamentary committees and the two sub-committees hold their inaugural meetings to elect their chairs and vice-chairs (Monday). This completes the set of committee elections which began the previous Thursday.

Swedish Presidency/Carl Bildt. Sweden's Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt, will brief the Foreign Affairs Committee on the foreign and security policy priorities of the new Council Presidency (Tuesday).

EP/Croatia. EP President Jerzy Buzek will meet the Prime Minister of Croatia, Jadranka Kosor.  The meeting will be followed by a press point (Thursday).

Regular committee meetings. The rest of the week is devoted to the first regular meetings of parliamentary committees.  Although Tuesday is a public holiday in Belgium, a number of committees are meeting that day, so Parliament’s offices will be open.
