 Subject: Transport of pets between Member States
 Answer(s) 

The new rules for the transportation of pets in the AE seek to establish specific measures to further regulate the transport of pets between Member States.

Could the Commission confirm whether the changes to the Pet Travel Scheme, with effect from 1 January 2012, will involve further requirements for vaccination against rabies?

Has the Commission assessed what impact the new measures for the vaccination of animals will have on animal interest groups and animal charities in the Union?

Does the Commission intend to implement a policy that would facilitate the transport of pets between Member States?
