Tragedy in Refrontolo (Treviso) — request for extraordinary funding

On 2 August, the Veneto Region, in particular the municipality of Refrontolo (Treviso), was hit by a weather phenomenon known (in Italy) as a ‘water bomb’, i.e. a sudden and violent storm, which resulted in the Lierza stream bursting its banks. The area of Molinetto della Croda was struck by a 3 metre-high wave of water and mud which caused the death of four people and injured eight. At the same time, there were seven landslides in the area, which cut off houses and families, fortunately without any further casualties.

Destructive weather-related events are becoming increasingly frequent in Veneto and in Europe in general. Given the unacceptable loss of life and the extensive damage to the economy of these areas, can the Commission answer the following questions:
