The floods that struck the general area of Sithonia in Halkidiki on 17 July 2017 were devastating and the municipality of Sithonia has called for a state of emergency to be declared there.
According to local authorities, the floods struck the entire coast from Neos Marmaras to Porto Koufo, and the road network has been disrupted by serious landslides.
Will the Commission say:
- —What is the minimum timeframe within which the EU Solidarity Fund can be activated to help rebuild the affected area?
- —In which cases could compensation for the damage be funded at 100% from EU funds?
