To what extent does the Commission scrutinise the transport of live animals from the EU to non-EU countries, and are EU inspectors present when these animals are unloaded in the non‐EU country of destination?

What penalties apply under EU legislation for contravention of animal transport regulations?

Do EU standards on the transport of live animals also apply in non-EU countries, and if so, how can adherence to these standards be guaranteed right up to the point when animals are unloaded at their destination?
