Text tabled : A7-0200/2011

Licia Ronzulli (PPE), in writing.(IT) The adoption of this resolution underlines the fact that Parliament welcomes the publication of the Commission’s Green Paper. This House is of the opinion that statutory auditing has a social function and is in the public interest, as it is an absolutely fundamental component of the economic and political apparatus of democracy. The independence of the auditors is of paramount importance and hence, we must recognise the need for better two-way communication between auditors and the financial supervisors of financial institutions.
