Text tabled : A7-0389/2011

Rolandas Paksas (EFD), in writing. (LT) I welcome this resolution on the accession of Croatia to the European Union. We should welcome the fact that finally, Croatia has successfully reached an historic milestone in the EU integration process. Accession negotiations with Croatia have now been concluded, bringing to an end almost six years of negotiation and several years of preparation. With the political, economic, social and cultural reforms that have been implemented, Croatia has become a solid and mature democracy. It should be borne in mind that accession to the EU should not be regarded as the end of a process but merely a step along the path of ongoing and continuous administrative and economic modernisation.
