Text tabled : A7-0183/2012

Pino Arlacchi (S&D), in writing. – I voted for this report because it stresses that the conclusion and the implementation of the association agreements is a priority of the reviewed European Neighbourhood Policy regarding the Eastern partners. The creation of Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Areas (DCFTAs) is indeed one of the most ambitious tools of EU bilateral trade policy with the aim to achieve a stable economic environment which respects democracy and the rule of law. In addition, it is important to underline that prosperity and stability in the EU’s eastern neighbourhood are in the EU’s utmost interest and, moreover, I believe that stable relations between the EU and its Eastern partners will undoubtedly increase trade volumes in both directions.
