Explanations of vote

Claude Moraes (S&D), in writing. − This report placed particular emphasis on respect for international labour and environmental standards, and the involvement of civil society including trade unions in monitoring the process of trade liberalisation to ensure these core standards are promoted and upheld. The report also calls for regular monitoring and reporting on the development of employment conditions, organic produce, Fair Trade produce, and the impact on small producers and cooperatives. For these reasons I voted for the report.
