Louis Grech (S&D), in writing. − In principle, I support the Beňová Report on the situation of Fundamental Rights in the EU (2010- 2011), which endorses the need for a coherent EU human rights policy approach that promotes fundamental issues and priorities like the ones on the rights of minorities, anti-discrimination, Roma, citizenship, data protection, etc. Moreover this is the first annual report after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty and since the Charter has transformed values and principles into tangible and enforceable rights. However, I will vote against the reference to abortion.
