Lívia Járóka (PPE), in writing. - Authorities must take further measures to combat discrimination, improve the living conditions of Roma and their access to social security, health, education, housing and employment services, and ensure their proper participation in public services. The Commission must therefore urge Montenego to sign up to the European Framework for National Roma Inclusion Strategies by launching and submitting a 10-year national inclusion strategy after the expiry of the current strategy to improve the status of the Roma and Egyptian (RAE) population.
The Government must further reinforce the legal framework and promote stronger measures to prevent and combat human trafficking, as well as to strengthen the capacities of law-enforcement and judicial authorities dealing with human trafficking, and to reinforce the identification and protection of victims, especially children and women. Gender equality legislation must also be properly enforced with particular regard to the recently adopted strategy for implementing the law on protection from family violence. The Ombudsman’s capacity in relation to children’s rights and those of the Council on the Rights of the Child must be enhanced.
