Claudette Abela Baldacchino (S&D), in writing. - This is a non-binding resolution. European Commission data shows that 62% of the victims of trafficking are trafficked for purposes of sexual exploitation and that 96% of the identified and presumed victims are women and girls. EU countries should strengthen their policies to fight trafficking and better protect victims. I encourage the European Parliament that when on the 5 March 2014, it will be celebrating the International Women’s Day, it addresses also these issues along with the fight against violence against women.
