Jim Higgins, Seán Kelly, Mairead McGuinness and Gay Mitchell (PPE), in writing. - The Fine Gael delegation in Parliament voted against this report because it does not provide for mandatory environmental impact assessments for shale gas exploration, evaluation and extraction. We understand that in many other respects the report is forward-looking and positive, but we consider that the absence of a mandatory EIA for shale gas weakens the text.
