Implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (A8-0203/2016 - Helga Stevens)

Stelios Kouloglou (GUE/NGL), in writing. ‒ The present report deals with the protection and monitoring of the implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, to which the EU acceded in December 2010. By its progressive approach, the report aims to strengthen Parliament’s position in this matter and to concentrate on burning subjects, mainly the protection of women, children and older persons with disabilities, including those with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities, within the context of an economic crisis. Hence, I voted in favour.
