Sven Giegold, on behalf of the Verts/ALE Group. – Mr President, with reference to Rule 190(4), we would like to postpone this vote. Before this vote, the ECON coordinators tried to get additional parliamentary control rights for our House in the nomination of ECB board members. Unfortunately, we have received a very disappointing answer from the Eurogroup today regarding our demands for more gender diversity and for more say from this House about who will become board members, and regarding the question of more competition and transparency in the selection process.

We hope for your support in order to put pressure on the Council to get more parliamentary say over the nomination of board members. Therefore, we should vote to postpone this vote for the nomination. We have every legal right to wait a bit longer.
