Resumption of the sitting

Martina Anderson (GUE/NGL). – Mr President, I stand under Rules of Procedures 22 and 45 and I want to raise awareness of a 56-year-old MP, Leyla Güven, who has been on hunger strike for 69 days. She was arrested one year ago for condemning Turkish invasion of Afrin. Many of the MEPs here also condemned that, but she’s on hunger strike against the isolation of the Kurdish leader Abdullah Öcalan and I ask you as President to look at her pre-trial on the 25th of this month and send a delegation of MEPs to look at what is happening at her trial.

(Applause)

(The President cut off the speaker)
